Boxer Rescue and Adoption, Inc.

Our Mission

Boxer Rescue and Adoption rescues Boxer dogs, finding them new, permanent homes with committed owners.  Ours is a non-profit organization created solely for the welfare and protection of the Boxer breed.

We take dogs in need into our homes, get to know the animal, get it checked by a veterinarian and updated on rabies, DHLPP, and bordatella.  Each dog is given a physical by the veterinarian, as well as a stool and heartworm check.

We determine if a dog is adoptable.  If the temperament is not sound, the dog will not be placed.  We have a responsibility to place dogs that will become loving family members, and not be a threat to people.

Our purebred rescue dogs come from Humane Societies, area animal shelters, or are owner give-ups.  Owners who no longer are able to care for their dogs in a responsible manner, or strays found wandering at large, come into our home, until we can find new families to adopt them.  Sometimes responsible, loving owners find themselves having to part with a beloved dog, and would rather turn to rescue than the shelter.  They know we will carefully screen our homes, provide support to the new owners, and do everything possible to help make the adoption work out for both the dog and the owner.

Our philosophy is to protect and serve our breed. We are dedicated to finding responsible and loving homes for rescued Boxers, so that dog will never again be in need of a new family. Our goal is to educate the public, breeders and fanciers on responsible dog ownership, including spaying and neutering of pets, behavioral guidelines to ensure problem behaviors are dealt with before the dog is abandoned and to inform prospective Boxer owners of the special qualities, characteristics and requirements of our breed before they acquire a Boxer. With proper education we hope to eventually eliminate the purebred Boxer from any and all rescue programs.
